WBCS – West Bengal Civil Service

Conducted by: WBPSC
Purpose: Recruitment for Group A, B, C, and D posts in administration, police, revenue, etc.

✅ Eligibility:

  • Graduate in any stream

  • Bengali language proficiency

  • Age:

    • Group A, C, D: 21–36 years

    • Group B (Police): 20–36 years

📝 Exam Pattern:

  1. Prelims – MCQ, 200 marks

  2. Mains – 6 compulsory papers + 1 optional (Group A/B only)

  3. Interview – 200 marks

📌 Selection Process:

  • Preliminary → Mains → Personality Test (Interview)

  • Final Merit: Mains (written) + Interview

WBPSC Clerkship Exam

 

Conducted by: WBPSC 

Purpose: For clerical positions (LDC, Typists, etc.) in West Bengal government offices

✅ Eligibility:

  • Madhyamik pass

  • Typing knowledge preferred

  • Age: 18–40 years

📝 Exam Pattern:

  • Part I (Objective): English, GK, Arithmetic (100 marks)

  • Part II (Descriptive): English and Bengali/Hindi/Urdu (50 marks)

📌 Selection Process:

  • Written Test (Part I & II)

  • Typing Test (qualifying)

  • Document Verification

West Bengal Police Exams

Includes: Constable, Lady Constable, Sub-Inspector (SI)

✅ Eligibility:

  • Madhyamik pass

  • Age: 18–27 years

📝 Exam Pattern:

  • Preliminary Written Test (MCQ)

  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Final Written Test

  • Interview

B. Sub-Inspector (SI)

✅ Eligibility:

  • Graduate in any discipline

  • Age: 20–27 years

  • Final Written Exam (conventional)

  • Personality Test

📌 Selection Process:

West Bengal Primary TET (WBTET)

Conducted by: WBBPE
Purpose: To recruit teachers for Class I to V in govt. primary schools

✅ Eligibility:

  • 10+2 with 50% + 2-yr D.El.Ed / B.Ed

  • As per NCTE norms

📝 Exam Pattern:

  • One paper (150 MCQs): CDP, Language I, Language II, Math, EVS

📌 Selection Process:

WBTET Qualifying → Interview → Document Verification → Panel → Appointment

WBSET – West Bengal State Eligibility Test

Conducted by: WBCSC
Purpose: Assistant Professor eligibility in colleges

✅ Eligibility:

  • Master’s with 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC)

  • No upper age limit

📝 Exam Pattern:

  • Paper I: 50 questions (teaching, reasoning, comprehension)

  • Paper II: 100 questions (subject-specific)

📌 Selection Process:

Merit based on both papers → Cut-off → Certificate of Eligibility (No Interview)

WBSSC SLST – Assistant Teacher Exam

Conducted by: WBSSC
Purpose: To recruit teachers in upper primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools

✅ Eligibility:

  • Graduate + B.Ed + TET qualified

  • Age: 21–40 years

📝 Exam Pattern:

  • Written Test (Subject + Pedagogy + Language)

  • Personality Test (Interview)

West Bengal Miscellaneous Services Exam

Conducted by: WBPSC
Purpose: For posts like Assistant Audit Officer, Development Officer, etc.

✅ Eligibility:

  • Graduate in any stream

  • Age: 20–39 years

📝 Exam Pattern:

  • Prelims (100 marks): GS + Arithmetic

  • Mains (300 marks): English, Bengali, GS

  • Interview (100 marks)

📌 Selection Process:

Prelims → Mains → Personality Test → Final Merit

WBHRB Exams – Health Department Recruitments

 

Conducted by: WBHRB
Includes: Staff Nurse, Medical Officer, Pharmacist, etc.

✅ Eligibility:

  • GNM/B.Sc Nursing for Nurse posts

  • D.Pharm/B.Pharm for Pharmacist

  • MBBS for Medical Officer

  • Age: 18–39 years (varies by post)

📝 Exam Pattern:

  • Most posts: Written Test + Interview

  • Some posts: Direct interview based on academic merit
